a while back Firefox decided that it needed more advertising and asked its users to send in their home-made promotional videos. some of them are pretty good. this one is my favorite:

apparently, this was made by a high school student. its very impressive.

its interesting to me that they can even do this. i mean, there are very few products out there that could ask their users to make an ad for them and get very many responses. Firefox has gotten hundreds. i’m sure the fact that the product itself is free helps with the loyalty of its users, but i think too that most people are willing to give their time and efforts to something that they don’t feel is trying to take advantage of them. also, its just a great web browser.
