Fillingim.com now on Wordpress

i decided to try out a new blogging tool and found that there are better things than blogger. i downloaded wordpress and installed it on my server and had it running in just a little while. now this isn't for everyone because i had to know something about ftp and directory permissions to get it to work right but i like it so far. its about as easy to change the templates around (i'm still learning CSS) and the format is just as good. what i like most, though, is that there is no "publishing" to worry about. since i'm running the software on my site, as soon as i hit save, its done. with blogger there was always the issue if composing on their site and then it being transferred to yours. now that's all handled.

the only problem i had was that i couldn't get it to work on godaddy hosting. they wouldn't let me setup a mySQL database that would work with wordpress. thankfully, i hadn't canceled my old hosting plan at 2globalmart.com and was able to switch back. i guess i wasted my money on that godaddy hosting. i'm paid up for a year, though. i guess i'll find something to put on there. i'll probably move fillingim.us over onto that and use it for data storage.

the only thing i have left to do is get flickr to publish to this blog automatically when i upload a pic from my phone.
