Mississippi Wiki

I really like the idea behind Wikipedia.  It is pretty amazing to see what a community can create when they begin sharing their collective knowledge.  There are drawbacks, to be sure, but it is a really neat thing to have and to use.

I also really like that they have provide the software that powers Wikipeda (MediaWiki) for free download to whoever wants to use it.  Someone has taking that software and started MississippiWiki.com.  My site got listed somehow on it's list of blogs and I've seen a few visitors to the site coming from there.  It is still pretty small and doesn't have a lot of articles. However, if you know something about a person, place or thing in Mississippi, head on over to the MississippiWiki and add a new article.
