ok, so 3-6 is pretty bad this season but a win is a win. the bullys beat alabama yesterday 24-16. we still made mistakes but our defense played good enough to keep bama from scoring an offensive touchdown. it was our first win over bama since 97 and our first SEC road win since 2000. we’ve got an off week before we play arkansas but i don’t think it’ll matter, the hogs are probably too strong for us this year. a win over ole miss would be nice though. and since they are just as bad as we are this year, that may be possible.

By the way, Mississippi State won a game this past weekend over UAB.
Now, I know that the Blazers are not exactly a powerhouse team, but a win is a win and is better than a loss any day. I listened to the 2nd half on the radio saturday night and i thought that we looked very mediocre. However, yesterday I watched the highlight show on FSN and from the video highlights I think we may have looked a little better. Sure, our freshman running back fumbled inside the 20 twice but i think we moved the ball better on offense and our defense got some key turnovers that allowed us to win the game. I still don’t think we are a very good team this year, but maybe we’re getting better. We do have to go to Baton Rouge this week, though, and that is going to be a slaughter.

I find it strange that, even though Mississippi State has not scored a SINGLE point this year, we are favored by 10.5 over Tulane this weekend. I guess the odd-makers have more confidence in our team than most of our fans right now.
In other news…have you heard about the backup punter that stabbed the starter so that he could win the punting job at a Div I-AA college? (story [USAToday.com]) I think competition is good for people and makes us strive to be better, but clearly it drives some people to craziness.

Whitney Cerak is the girl from Michigan who was the victim of mistaken identity after a serious car accident. Her parents were told that she was dead and another girl’s parents thought their daughter was alive. After 5 weeks in the hospital, the mix-up was discovered. This is the family’s website about the ordeal. The latest post is from Whitney herself, who is now home from the hospital.
The AP story that led me to their blog:
