keyboards and satellites

Well, i finally got a targus keyboard for my visor. once again, i got a computer peripherial from buy.com before i got the email saying it had been shipped. i just ordered this thing wednesday afternoon and according to ups’s website, they delivered it before noon today. that’s pretty fast turnaround.
i can already tell that i’m going to have to press harder to type an h than on normal keyboards.
i was supposed to get my satellite internet installed today but its raining and they called to reshcedule for tomorrow. maybe i’ll get it then…

  • things to ponder

appeals court rules that “one nation under God” is unconstitutional…even if bush says is ridiculous and the supreme court overrules, its going to start a fight…sweden parliament missed by one vote making christianity a crime…it looks like governments are beginning to oppose christianity more and more…if the palestinianians blow up the temple in jeruselum tomorrow i’m going to start expecting the rapture to happen any day

  • busy day

today has been a busy day. i got to work this morning and found out that the system that controls the paper machines (which is my area) screwed up yesterday and forced us to cull a lot of paper. the bosses were not happy with this. i had about an hour meeting with my boss and the technicians that are there to support this system on what the issues are and what we can do to fix them. since i’ve only been there 4 weeks and i’ve never worked on this system before i’m going to have to learn most everything from scratch. anyway between that and the usual frustrations associated with learning another new system that we are beta testing right now i’m kinda spent.

i ordered my satellite internet yesterday. bryan on the phone said that they would be sending my 2 email to let me know the status of my delivery. i’ve gotten one of them but the one telling me the phone number of who is going to install the thing hasn’t come yet. hopefully this won’t take as long as it took to get my phone turned on (3 weeks).

i researched a program yesterday called eblvd.com it allows you to get access to your home pc with a pcanywhere-like interface from a web browser (java applet actually) with a $5 a month charge. once i get broadband, i’m thinking of downloading the free trial and giving it a shot. i think that might be useful.

i’m still not so sure about this journal thing. i don’t think i’ve ever kept a journal in my life.

this is my first entry into this thing. i may not ever enter another one but who knows? i might get really into the whole journal idea. we’ll see…

[I back-posted this from my old LiveJournal just so that I have a record of my first ever blog post. Its nothing exciting but it tells me when I began my "online presence"]
